FDP on 5G Green Communication & Network Deployment in Smart Cities held at Acharya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru

(NEWS and UPDATES) A Five Days Online  Faculty Development Programme- FDF on 5G Green Communication & Network Deployment in Smart Cities (ATAL FDP-2020-21)  sponsored by AICTE New Delhi Under ATAL Learning Scheme was successfully conducted in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Acharya Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, Karnataka on 18th January 2021 — 22nd January 2021. The FDP program received an overwhelming response with overall 153 participants from various engineering colleges across India.

The programme was inaugurated in the morning by Dr.Maneesh Paul S, Campus Director Acharya Institutes, Bengaluru, Dr. Prakash M R, Principal AIT, Bengaluru , Dr.Prashant C M Dean Faculty Development, AIT, Bengaluru , Dr.Rajeswari, Program Chair Dean Academics, AIT Bengaluru & Mr. Devasis Pradhan,Coordinator, FDP.

The inauguration was followed by the felicitation of Chief guest Dr. P. K Sahu, Dean Faculty Development, NIT Rourkela Odisha. Followed by the felicitation the expert lecture was delivered by Dr. Preetam Kumar from IIT Patna on the topic 5G: Challenges and enabling Technologies in the forenoon of 18-01-2021. This was followed by the lectures on Green Communication In 5G And Beyond 5G Wireless Communication Networks by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Associate Professor,Department of ECE, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Jammu & Kashmiron the AN of 18-01-2021 and Last session of the first day on Energy Consumption in 5G by Dr. Rajarshi Mahapatra, Associate Professor, Dean Academics , Dr.SPM IIIT Raipur.

There was three session on each day of the event. Second day -19-01-2021 first session taken by Dr. Radhakrishna Ganti, IIT Madras on Full-duplex wireless communication systems, second session taken by Dr. Vivek Bohara, Associate Professor,  IIIT Delhi on Hybrid VLC-RF communication systems: Possible application scenarios in V2X and 5G cellular standards followed by third session of the day on Real Time 5G Emulation and its Future Perspective by Dr. Prabhu Chandhar, Director,  Chandhar Research Labs Pvt Ltd,  Tamil Nadu.

Third day -20-01-2021 first session taken by Dr. Ravishankar S, Professor, Department of ECE, RVCE, Bengaluru on Multicarrier Modulation and Demodulation for 5G, second session taken by Dr. Dhaval Patel, Assistant Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Science Ahmadabad University on A Smart Sensing Framework for 5G-Cognitive Radio using Deep Learning followed by third session of the day on Radio Standards and Architectural challenges from 4G to 5G by Dr. Sudhindra K R, Associate Professor, Department of ECE, BMSCE , Bengaluru.

FDF on 5G Green Communication & Network Deployment in Smart Cities Fourth day -21-01-2021 first session taken by Mr. Ravikiran Annaswamy, CEO,  Numocity Technologies,Bengaluru on Applications driven by 5G network, second session taken by Mr. Subhas Mondal. Wipro Fellow & Chief Architect -5G , Bengaluru on Private 5G ( in Smart city context) followed by third session of the day on Artificial Intelligence use cases in 5G Network by Mr. Manish Shukla, Manager Technical Delivery, British Telecommunication, Bengaluru

Fifth day -22-01-2021 first session taken by Mrs.Shalini K. Sharma, Head, Counselling, Welfare,  Training & Placement, NMAM Institute of Technology,Udupi on “Is stress an enemy? How to make stress our friend? Way to identify and deal with stress.”, second session taken by Dr. lalit Singh, Scientist, NPCIL-BARC, Department of Atomic Energy, Govt. India on Reliability analysis of safety and critical system followed by the third session of the day on Antenna design for 5G Communication by Dr. Debajit De, Sr. RF Engineer, VVDN Technologies, India.

On the whole the FDF on 5G Green Communication & Network Deployment in Smart Cities received a lot of positive feedback from participants and it paved the way for participants to implement their Research Ideas in 5G Green Communication & Networks.
